What matters most to you and your community? What is working, and what would you like to see change?
The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is bringing Community Conversations to communities across California, creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), families, advocates, and community members to connect and share their experiences.

This year’s theme says it beautifully:
“Your experience. Your values. Your State Council. Driving change together.”
During these conversations, participants can hear updates about SCDD’s work, connect with others in their region, and share perspectives on the issues that matter most to them.
At Canaan Cares, we believe people with I/DD and all abilities should have a voice in the decisions, services, and policies that affect their lives. Community Conversations offer an opportunity for individuals and families to speak up, connect, and help inform the work happening across California.
Community Conversations began in the Bay Area in August 2026 and will continue in regions throughout California through February 2027.
Your experience matters. Your perspective matters. Your voice can help drive change.
