October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), a time to recognize the talents and contributions of people with disabilities in the workplace and to highlight resources that support meaningful employment opportunities.
This October, the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is offering a free virtual Lunch & Learn Series for individuals, families, professionals, and community members. Sessions are available in English and Spanish and will cover topics including employment advocacy, California’s Employment First policy, employer perspectives, and benefits planning.
October Training Sessions
- October 1: California’s Employment First Policy, WIOA & Employment Advocacy
- October 8: Spanish-language session on Employment First, WIOA & Employment Advocacy
- October 22: Voice of the Employer
- October 29: Benefits Planning: Dispelling Myths & Launching Employment While Maintaining Benefits
Each session runs from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM and is free to attend.
