The San Diego Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (SDCEPD) is accepting applications for the 2026 Kevin Starks Memorial Scholarship Award, an opportunity supporting students and vocational learners with disabilities as they work toward their educational and career goals.
Up to four scholarships of up to $1,500 each will be awarded to eligible residents of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Applicants must have a disability as defined under California and/or federal law and demonstrate financial need, along with academic achievement and/or vocational talent.
Scholarship recipients will also be recognized at the 27th Annual Jobtoberfest Job & Resource Fair at the Balboa Park Club in October.
Scholarship Details
- Extended Application Deadline: September 8, 2026
- Eligibility: Residents of San Diego or Imperial County with a qualifying disability
- Award: Up to $1,500 per recipient

What Is Jobtoberfest?
If you’re not familiar with Jobtoberfest, it is an annual San Diego job and resource fair that connects job seekers with disabilities with employers, workforce organizations, and community resources. Now in its 27th year, the 2026 event is expected to welcome approximately 1,500 talented and motivated job seekers with disabilities from across San Diego County.
Jobtoberfest 2026 Details
- Date: October 7, 2026
- Job Fair: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Vendor Setup & Opening Ceremony: Beginning at 9:00 AM
- Location: Balboa Park Club, Balboa Park
Employers, resource providers, workforce partners, and organizations interested in sponsorship opportunities are also encouraged to participate.
