As Special Olympics beautifully shares, “Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills, and success.” The Spring Games are more than a competition. They are a celebration of inclusion, determination, confidence, and community spirit.
Athletes from San Diego County and surrounding areas will compete in:
- Basketball
- Flag Football
- Swimming
- Bocce Ball
Canaan Cares will be in the Athlete Village throughout the event to cheer on athletes, connect with families, and serve as a resource for individuals looking for support services and community connections. Athlete Village is designed as a fun and welcoming space where athletes can relax, recharge, and celebrate between events with games, activities, music, and more.
We will also be available to speak with anyone interested in joining our team as support staff. If you are passionate about helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fuller, more independent lives, we would love to connect with you.
