About

In 2001, Christopher and Susan Brodecky Jenkins, welcomed their first daughter, Allison, into the world. Soon after Allison’s birth, it was evident that she had developmental and medical complications. Allison was diagnosed with an unknown degenerative neurological disorder similar to ALS or MS and a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. Unfortunately Allison passed in June of 2015, but the Jenkins family and the Canaan Cares Foundation are committed to helping those in need in Allison's honor.

The Canaan Cares Foundation was founded and originally funded by Christopher and Susan Jenkins and the Jenkins Family Trust. Today the foundation is funded by proceeds of Canaan Health Care, Inc. and generous donations from individuals and corporations. The foundation staff is comprised of 100% volunteers, so every penny you donate goes towards our mission.
